I often travel to the NSW South Coast for work and I try and spread my business as this area was devastated by the January bushfires. This time I... read more hit on a gem! The Seascape motel is on the highway in Mollymook as you head into Ulladulla with easy access off the road and plenty of parking /driveway space if like me, you have a small truck (Hilux etc). I checked in late and this was easy with the managers providing clear instruction on obtaining the key and finding my room in the middle of the night.
The motel is two story, but room access is split level so it’s just a few steps up or down to either floor and I don't think it is more than a few metres from any car space to your front door. I didn't notice any traffic noise, but you do get some light and movement from passing cars though this can be overcome easily by closing the kitchen blinds as it gets dark.
I was in residence for a few days so I chose a larger two bedroom option to spread out which must have been nearly 80 sq metres. There is no hallway to squeeze through on entry as the room opens up to a well appointed kitchen with everything you could need to prepare and cook meals. From here you move into a large dining and lounge space to a veranda with distant ocean views and a great aspect over the town. Thankfully there is a large flat screen TV articulated in the corner so you can easily watch TV from the lounge without having to crouch forward.
The bedrooms were spacious with the main having the same distant ocean and town views to let the sunrise flood in if that is how you like to wake up in the morning. I did notice good blinds if sleeping in is your thing. Sheets, pillows and blankets were great quality with plenty of hanging space and another smaller TV
The bathroom again was well appointed and though there was a restricted shower head, it still provided plenty of hot water with good pressure.
Overall, the room was spotless and well maintained with tasteful colour scheme. The managers tell me this was a recently refurbished room, but they are in the process of completing all during these quiet COVID times. It was a pleasant 10 minutes’ walk to the coast and another five down to Mollymook Beach, shops, golf and surf club then a wonderful coastal walk north for several kilometres.
All in all, a wonderful place to make your base while you explore the coast, Milton and its shops or the hinterland.
